The Romanian National Curriculum – the standards, the reference objectives and the competences, as well as the contents of learning and the evaluation forms. Moreover, teachers are prepared to use teaching methods and principles specific to international education and to adapt the resources, contents and methods of teaching / evaluation to the individual learning needs of the students according to the study program.
8 th graders benefit from a program of personalized school orientation. Students have the possibility to choose between preparing for the Cambridge Checkpoint Exam and therefore, study English, Maths and Science and preparing for the National Evaluation Exam and study Mathematics and Romanian according to the national system.
The afternoon classes function as an activity conceived not only to develop different competences such as: study routine, research, the deeper understanding of the topics studied during the classes, but also to stimulate students’ initiative, independence and resposibility.
The Interdisciplinary Approach, which involves breaking certain boundaries and
eliminating the rigid frameworks used to explain issues, comprises the study of the same topic from the point of view of different subjects and plays an important part in the sedimentation of certain key concepts for the students:
- encourages the freedom of speech, of thinking and the flexibility in problem solving;
- contributes – in a great extent – to the ability of making correlations and judging the phenomena in a wider context;
- focuses on the real understanding of subjects, not on learning them by heart;
- facilitates the interpretation of topics and problems from more points of view.
