Admission Process for High School Students

Admission steps for high school level –  Cambridge Curriculum

  1. Meeting with the candidate and his/her parents for a tour of the school. During this meeting, the candidate will be offered information about the community and the educational principles of Paradis International College, as well as details about the curriculum and the co-curricular activities.
  2. Interview with the parents with the purpose of exploring your family’s values and principles to ensure that they align with those of Paradis International College. We will discuss the expectations for your child’s education and how we can collaborate effectively to support the harmonious development of our students.
  3. The candidate’s interview with the admissions committee, allowing them to get to know the student’s personality.
  4. Testing the candidate’s cognitive potential.
  5. The submission of medical records on chronic conditions, allergies, special needs, etc.
  6. Assessing the candidate’s academic knowledge in:
  • English Language: a) the presentation of an internationally recognized language certificate (First Certificate in English at B2 or higher) or b) for the candidates that do not have a language certificate, there is an internal English Language exam, which consists of one oral and one written evaluation; in order to be admitted, the candidate needs to achieve an average score equivalent to the B2 level;
  • Mathematics: a) the presentation of an official document testifying a minimum of 8.50 (eight fifty) at the National Evaluation for eighth graders or b) if the candidate did not take the national exam, there is an internal exam; in order to be admitted, the candidate needs to achieve a minimum of 8.50 (eight fifty);
  • Science: when the candidate comes from another international school, he or she must submit a transcript to the secretary’s office. If the candidate does not come from another international school, he/she will be tested from the area of science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). The candidate will be considered admitted if he or she obtains a minimum of 8.50 (eight fifty).
  1. The admission committee will offer an official answer in no more than 72 hours from the academic knowledge evaluation.
  2. If the candidate is admitted, their parents will fill in the application form, will sign the tuition contract, will fill in the file and pay the admission fee (representing the tuition fee for the first month).

AS Level transfer stage (11th grade)

If candidates come from another international school, they will need to bring an IGCSE diploma and transcript for grades 9 and 10. If they do not come from an international school, they will have an interview and will have to present an English Language certificate (minimum level B2) or take an English language test organised by the school. They will then also take tests in the subjects they intend to choose for AS Level. Candidates will be considered admitted if they obtain at least 80% in the tests/grade B.

 

Admission steps for high school level – Romanian curriculum, theoretical programme in Science, specialization Natural Sciences, bilingual English

  1. Meeting with the candidate and his/her parents for a tour of the school. During this meeting, the candidate will be offered information about the community and the educational principles of Paradis International College, as well as details about the curriculum and the co-curricular activities.
  2. Interview with the parents with the purpose of exploring your family’s values and principles to ensure that they align with those of Paradis International College. We will discuss the expectations for your child’s education and how we can collaborate effectively to support the harmonious development of our students.
  3. The candidate’s interview with the admissions committee, allowing them to get to know the student’s personality.
  4. Testing the candidate’s cognitive potential.
  5. The submission of medical records on chronic conditions, allergies, special needs, etc.
  6. The presentation of an internationally recognized language proficiency certificate attesting the level of minimum A2. For the candidates who do not have a language proficiency certificate, there is an internal English Language exam, consisting of one oral and one written evaluation; to be declared admitted, the average of the two tests must certify the A2 language level.
  7. The presentation of an official document testifying a minimum of 8.50 (eight fifty) at the National Evaluation for eighth graders, for the case in which the candidate took this exam.
  8. If the interview and the evaluation of the candidate’s cognitive potential take place before the National Evaluation final grades are made public, the candidate will be evaluated through an internal exam in Mathematics and Romanian Language. The candidate that is awarded a minimum of 8.50 (eight fifty) will be admitted. In the case in which, following these three evaluation steps, the candidate is admitted, he or she will receive an offer under the condition to pass the National Evaluation.
  9. The admission committee will offer an official answer in no more than 72 hours from the academic knowledge assessment.
  10. If the candidate is admitted, the parents will fill in the application form, will sign the tuition contract, will fill in the file and pay the admission fee (representing the tuition fee for the first month).
