Admission procedure – high school level

Stages of high school admission – Cambridge curriculum

  1. Completing the application form and submitting documents regarding the candidate’s previous studies.
  2. The meeting with the parents and the candidate in order to take a tour of the school. During this meeting they will be presented with both information regarding the educational principles and the Paradis International College community, as well as details regarding the curriculum and co-curricular activities.
  3. The interview held by the candidate in front of the admission committee, in order to know the child’s personality.
  4. Testing the candidate’s cognitive potential.
  5. Presentation of the medical file regarding dispensable chronic conditions, allergies, special needs, etc.
  6. Assessment of academic knowledge at:
  • English language: a) presentation of a certificate of language skills with international recognition, certifying the minimum level of knowledge B2 or b) for candidates who do not hold the attestation of language skills, an internal exam is organized to verify knowledge of the English language, which consists in an oral test and a written test; to be declared admitted, it is necessary that the average of the two tests certify the B2 level.
  • Mathematics: a) presentation of an official proof of the fact that he obtained at least grade 8 (eight) in the National Assessment exam for grade VIII or b) if he did not take this exam, an internal exam is organized; in order to be declared admitted, the candidate must obtain a minimum grade of 8 (eight).
  • Sciences: when the candidate comes from another international school, he will submit the transcript to the secretariat. If the candidate does not come from another international school, he will be tested in the area of sciences (biology, chemistry and physics). The candidate will be considered admitted if he obtains at least an average of 8 (eight).
  1. The admission committee will provide an answer to the candidate within 72 hours from the date of taking the knowledge test.
  2. In the situation where the candidate is declared admitted, the tuition contract is signed, the file is completed and the registration fee is paid (which is the fee for the first month of study).

 

AS Level transfer stage (11th grade)

If applicants come from another international school, they will bring an IGCSE diploma and transcripts for the 9th and 10th grades. If they do not come from an international school, they will take an interview and present an English language certificate (minimum level B2) or take an English language test, organized by the school. They will then take tests in the subjects they intend to choose for AS Level. Candidates will be considered admitted if they score at least 80% in tests/grade B.

 

Stages of high school admission – Romanian curriculum, theoretical stream, real profile, specialization in natural sciences, bilingual English

  1. Completing the application form and submitting documents regarding the candidate’s previous studies.
  2. The meeting with the parents and the candidate in order to take a tour of the school. During this meeting you will be presented with both information regarding the educational principles and community of Paradis International College, as well as details regarding the curriculum and co-curricular activities.
  3. The interview held by the candidate in front of the admission committee, in order to know the child’s personality.
  4. Testing the candidate’s cognitive potential.
  5. Presentation of the medical file regarding dispensable chronic conditions, allergies, special needs, etc.
  6. Presentation of an internationally recognized certificate of language skills attesting to the minimum level of knowledge A2. For candidates who do not hold the attestation of language skills, an internal exam is organized to verify knowledge of the English language, which consists of an oral test and a written test; to be declared admitted, it is necessary that the average of the two tests certify the language level A2.
  7. Presentation of an official proof attesting to obtaining an average of at least 8 (eight) in the National Assessment exam for the 8th grade, in the situation where the candidate took this exam.
  8. If the interview and testing of the candidate’s cognitive potential will be held before the results of the National Assessment exam for the 8th grade are displayed, the candidate will be evaluated through an internal exam, in the subjects of mathematics and Romanian language and literature. The student who obtained a minimum grade of 8 (eight) will be considered admitted. In the situation where, following these three evaluation elements, the candidate will be declared admitted, he will receive an offer conditional on passing the National Evaluation exam.
  9. The admission committee will provide an answer to the candidate within 72 hours from the date of taking the internal exam.
  10. In the situation where the candidate is declared admitted, the tuition contract is signed, the file is completed and the registration fee is paid (which is the fee for the first month of study).
